About Us

Welcome to Nekoten House, where every purr and whisker tells a story of hope and resilience.  Our sanctuary is a haven for cats in need, providing a safe and loving environment for those who have faced hardship and adversity.  It all began with the founder’s vision of providing a safe haven for cats where they can grow, thrive, live happily and comfortably for the rest of their lives. Founded in 2012, this lifetime cat care facility houses close to 100 felines in clean rooms with built-in wooden cat stairs for climbing, playing and lounging. Each room comes with a catio and/or an outdoor area. NekoTen House is owned and operated by Sachiko, a dedicated cat advocate and experienced caretaker.

Sactuary Founders

Sachiko, founder of NekoTen House has always had a deep connection with cats. At the early age of 7 she remembers a very pregnant cat crawling inside her futon during the cold winter season to give birth. Since then other strays have given birth in her futon on at least two different occasions.

These experiences have led her to believe cats have always trusted her and felt safe in her presence. Over the years she has rescued and provided a safe haven for cats. This was the beginning of her work and deep relationship with felines. She firmly believes that if you help cats it will come back to you. She has dedicated her life to providing life-long care for cats and ensuring they live their best life at NekoTen House.

Miyuki (Sachiko's daughter) has been working alongside her mother at NekoTen House for over a decade looking after close to 100 cats. She  has cared for and been around cats since she was in elementary school.  While living in California she adopted 2 cats who were about to be put down and then brought them back to Japan with her.  The cats have taught her so much about life and she enjoys educating and sharing what she has learned about them. Some of her favorite topics include, but are not limited to:

•Travelling with cats by Airplane (Overseas)

•Moving cats to a New Place/Environment

•Shampoo/Grooming/Nail Cutting

•Cat Food/Treats

• DIY Cat Cubes/Shelter

• Kitten Care

When she is not looking after cats, she enjoys reading, studying, eating and watching men's basketball, volleyball and stand-up comedians. Favorite Film Genre: Documentaries, suspense/mystery and some horror

Favorite Food: Mexican, Mediterranean, Italian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, Japanese
